We have processed Dutch alpaca in a very soft and bulky yarn. A wonderfully light yarn consisting of one thick thread. This yarn has its natural color in camel and off-white, it is GOTS dyed dark blue and blossom. As we do not have any professional wool processing industry in the Netherlands anymore we have it washed, combed and spun in Italy.
A 50 gram ball of Dutch Alpaca holds about 90 meters. We recommend that you always knit a sample first to check the number of rows and stitches. Needle 8 mm gives approx. 11 stitches 17 rows.
The alpaca wool is light, super soft, and strong. It has a beautiful texture, is elastic, and regulates humidity. This wool cools you down in summer and keeps you comfortably warm in winter. On top of all this, alpaca wool is ant-allergic and has antibacterial qualities and it’s completely biodegradable. It requires little care, as wool is self cleaning, so some fresh air is enough to keep enjoying whatever you make of this beautiful wool.
