Finally, there they are! Our own merino sheep woolen socks. Because wool fibers have great moisture and temperature-regulating properties, your feet will always stay in the right temperature. Back in the days people used to repair their selfmade socks because making socks is a time-consuming activity. To encourage this, we include leftover yarns with the socks so they can last a very long time! After testing it appears the sock is not strong enough for daily use whilst wearing shoes. Therefore the purpose of this sock is mainly for bed-use. We have decided to make new socks with recycled nylon in the whole sock. We will offer this via our website this Autumn.
The amazing properties of merino wool
The fiber of the wool of merino sheep is much thinner and therefore softer than the wool of traditional Dutch sheep. The wool adapts to the environment. It is elastic, and regulates humidity. This wool cools you down in summer and keeps you comfortably warm in winter. On top of all this, merino has antibacterial qualities and it’s completely biodegradable.
