Finally, there they are! Our own sheep woolen socks with a bit of alpaca. Back in the days people used to repair their selfmade socks because making socks is a time-consuming activity. To encourage this, we include leftover yarns and a needle with the socks so they can last a very long time! We have knitted a short and a long version of the Sjors.
The amazing properties of Dutch wool
Wool of traditional Dutch sheep has the characteristic of having a tougher appearance due to its sturdy wool hairs. The alpaca wool is light, super soft, and strong. Furthermore, merino wool is added with the Responsible Wool Standard (RWS) quality mark. This makes a perfect match! It has a beautiful texture, is elastic, and regulates humidity. This wool cools you down in summer and keeps you comfortably warm in winter. On top of all this, wool has antibacterial qualities and it’s completely biodegradable. It requires little care, as wool is self-cleaning, so some fresh air is enough to keep enjoying your favourite sweater for years.
These socks are 3D knitted which means they are completely seamless. After production they are washed in a special manner which makes the wool felt a bit to make it even more warm!
Made To Order
We work with the Made To Order principle. No item is made before you place an order. We can knit a pair of socks within a week. Rest assured, it’s worth the wait. The MTO principle also allows you to indicate special size requirements.
