What to expect on the way
What is a pre-order?
A pre-order means you choose your garment before it is knitted. After the pre-order period ends, we start knitting the pre-order collection. This way, we know exactly which styles, colors, and sizes need to be made, and we only produce what will actually be worn.
Why do you work with pre-orders?
Many of our customers shop consciously. Less often, but with more conviction. A pre-order aligns with that way of choosing.
By producing based on actual demand, we only make what is needed. This reduces overproduction and allows us to focus on materials, quality, and craftsmanship.
Why do I have to pay upfront?
With a pre-order, you choose your knit before it is knitted. This way, we know exactly which
styles, colors, and sizes need to be made.
When will I receive my knit?
This summer, the first jackets and cardigans will be knitted. During that period, we will take you on the wool journey: from fiber to finished product. We expect to ship the first knits from September 17, so they are ready when the season changes.
What do I get as a pre-order benefit?
As a thank you for your trust, you will receive a pre-order benefit of €50 or €80 during this first production run.
What happens after I order?
After your pre-order, you will receive a confirmation. We will then take you on the wool journey and keep you informed of important moments in the making process, so you can follow how your knit is slowly coming to fruition.
Can I try on the collection first?
Yes. During the pre-order period, we organize several fitting days where you can view, try on, and compare the collection.
Where do the fitting days take place?
You are welcome at The Knitwit Stable on June 24, July 1 and 2 in Baambrugge (Kleiweg 27b) and at Sukha Studio on June 26 in Amsterdam (Korte Marnixstraat 7).
Can I come by appointment?
Yes, you can also try on the collection at times other than the fitting days: Through our agenda, you can easily schedule a personal fitting appointment at a time that suits you.
I can't come by. What now?
No problem. We also provide personal size advice remotely. Send us your height, usual size, and any questions, and we'll be happy to help.
How does the collection fit?
For each model, you'll find information about the fit, a size chart, and photos of different body types. This will give you a good idea of how the knit fits.
Can I change my size after ordering?
As long as production has not yet started, we are happy to help you. Please contact us if you are unsure about your size.
What material are the knits made from?
The Weide and Oever jackets and the Riet bodywarmer are made from the thicker Dutch Wool Premium yarn, a blend of Kempisch Heideschaap wool, Merino, and Alpaca. At The Knitwit Stable, every design starts with the material. The properties of the wool determine the structure, warmth, and shape of the final garment.
What does the wool feel like?
The wool has a natural structure and a sturdy character. At the same time, the material is soft, breathable, and comfortable to wear.
Can I feel the wool first?
Yes. During the pre-order period, you can request a wool sample kit [link to be added]. This allows you to get acquainted with the material at home before making a choice.
Does the wool itch?
Everyone experiences wool differently. That's why we offer wool sample kits so you can experience the material for yourself [link to be added].
Is the wool suitable for sensitive skin?
Many people find our wool comfortable against the skin. If you are sensitive to wool, we recommend requesting a wool sample kit [link to be added] first so you can assess the material yourself.
Is wool suitable for multiple seasons?
Yes. Wool naturally regulates temperature. This makes the material not only pleasant during cold months but also suitable for spring and autumn.
Which countries do you ship to?
We ship to various countries both within and outside Europe. During checkout, you will see which shipping options are available for your country.
Can I pick up my order?
Yes. During checkout, you can choose between shipping or picking up your order at The Knitwit Stable during the festive collection launch on September 17th from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM.
What are the shipping costs?
Within the European Union, shipping is free for orders over €100. For destinations outside the EU, shipping costs are automatically calculated during checkout.
Do I have to pay import duties or taxes?
For orders outside the European Union, local import duties, taxes, or customs clearance fees may apply. These costs vary by country and are determined by local authorities. Any additional costs are the responsibility of the recipient.
How do I stay updated on my order?
You can choose how you want to receive updates about your order. You can indicate this after you have placed your order.
Can I cancel my order?
Please contact us as soon as possible. We will be happy to see what is possible.
Can I still adjust my size or color?
As long as production has not yet started, changes can often still be made. Please contact us for this.
What happens if the delivery time changes?
Should the schedule change, we will inform you immediately. We always communicate as transparently as possible about the progress of production.
How do I care for my knitwear?
Wool naturally has self-cleaning properties and is antibacterial. Often, airing it out is enough; washing is rarely necessary.
How do I wash my knitwear?
If washing is necessary, it can be washed on a 30-degree wool cycle and dried flat. This will best preserve the shape and quality of the garment.
What is the best way to store my knitwear?
Store your knitwear clean and folded in a dry place. This will keep the material beautiful for years to come.
Where are the garments made?
The wool for this collection starts in the Dutch landscape, with Kempen sheep grazing around Roermond. After shearing, the wool is washed and spun in Northern Italy. The material then returns to Baambrugge, where the jackets and body warmers are knitted at The Knitwit Stable.
Why do you work this way?
The Knitwit Stable was founded on the conviction that clothing can be made differently. Not driven by speed and volume, but by attention to material, craftsmanship, and quality. We believe that clothing becomes more valuable when you know where it comes from and when it is made to last for years.
