Torben

The Torben is a unisex sweater with raglan sleeves made in patent stitch. Made from 100% merino, this sweater is robust and does not itch or wrinkle. Most of our merino comes from the Netherlands and is spun and dyed in Italy.

All our products are developed and knitted in our mini factory in Baambrugge.

The special properties of merino wool

Merino is an adaptable natural fiber that comes from the merino sheep. Compared to traditional Dutch wool, merino’s fibers are much thinner and therefore softer. For this reason, merino has many characteristics that make it wonderful for all kinds of garments. Not only is the merino soft but it also doesn’t itch or wrinkle. Garments made from merino are very breathable, meaning that they stay cool in the summer and keep you warm in the winter even when damp. Additionally merino has antibacterial properties so garments hardly need to be washed; airing them out is often more than enough. This way your favorite sweater will last for generations.

Our merino is sustainably sourced from our own merino sheep as well as other Dutch merino farmers. All the merino farmers we source from are vetted by The Knitstable Stable. Additionally all of our merino hasn’t been chemically treated like superwash which preserves the natural look of merino for our garments.

 Choose your color and size

You can choose from four colors for this sweater: dark blue, dark gray, taupe (gray-brown) and sand. The sand is the natural color of the merino wool and not dyed. All yarns of our synthetic colors are washed and dyed according to the GOTS standard. This means that the amount of harmful chemicals has been reduced to a minimum.

This sweater is semi-fitted, falls to the waistband and has a rounded collar. In a men’s size medium, the length of the sweater (from the highest shoulder point) is 69 cm, sleeve length (from center back) is 87.5 cm and chest width is 48 cm. In a women’s size medium, the length of the sweater (from the highest shoulder point) is 60 cm, sleeve length (from center back) is 80 cm and chest width is 46 cm.

We work according to the made-to-order principle. This means that we only start producing your item after your order. The delivery time is 2-4 weeks. But we promise you: it's worth the wait.
