1. General terms and conditions

These general terms and conditions apply to orders and bookings made through The Knitwit Stable.

1. Identity and Contact

The Knitwit Stable is operated by Stichting The Knitwit Stable, located at Kleiweg 27 B, 1396 HW Baambrugge, Netherlands.

  • Chamber of Commerce number: 87122960
  • VAT number: NL864209873B01
  • General email and orders/returns: info@theknitwitstable.nl
  • Phone: +31 6 19 93 81 05
2. Applicability

These terms apply to every offer from The Knitwit Stable and to every distance contract with a consumer. For business orders, custom projects, or separate quotations, additional agreements may apply. If an additional agreement deviates, that specific agreement takes precedence.

The terms and conditions are made available before the order is finalized and can be saved. By placing an order, the customer confirms that the terms and conditions have been read and accepted.

3. Offer and Agreement

We describe our products, prices, materials, sizes, and availability as carefully as possible. Wool and other natural materials may show minor differences in color, structure, and appearance. Such natural variations do not constitute a defect.

An agreement is formed as soon as the order is placed and we have sent the order confirmation by email. Obvious errors in prices, product information, or availability are not binding on us, insofar as the customer could reasonably understand that there was an error.

4. Prices and Payment

All consumer prices include VAT and exclude any shipping costs, unless otherwise stated. Shipping costs will be displayed before the order is finalized.

Payment is made via the payment methods offered at checkout. An order will be processed after payment or payment authorization has been received.

5. Delivery

We deliver to the address provided by the customer. Most products are delivered from stock and are normally shipped within a few working days. A stated delivery time is an estimate, unless a fixed delivery date has been explicitly agreed upon.

When an order is shipped, the customer will generally receive a shipping confirmation with track & trace. For periodic pre-orders, the expected delivery date stated on the product page or in the order confirmation applies.

The risk of damage or loss transfers to the consumer as soon as the order has been received by the consumer or a third party designated by the consumer.

6. Collection

Collection in Baambrugge is possible when offered at checkout or agreed upon with us in advance. The customer will be notified when the order is ready.

7. Right of Withdrawal and Returns

The statutory right of withdrawal applies to consumers. In addition, The Knitwit Stable offers a return period of 30 days after receipt for eligible products. The full policy is described on the Returns & Right of Withdrawal page and forms part of these terms and conditions.

8. Conformity and Warranty

A product must meet what the customer can reasonably expect from it. The statutory warranty always applies. Was a product delivered incorrectly, arrived damaged, or does it have a defect? Please contact us as soon as possible via support@theknitwitstable.nl and, where relevant, include the order number and photos. We will then assess an appropriate free solution, such as repair, replacement, price reduction, or refund, depending on the situation and the customer's legal rights.

9. Workshops, Masterclasses, and Custom Work

For a workshop, masterclass, or other leisure service on a specific date or within a specific period, the statutory right of withdrawal may be excluded. This will be clearly stated before booking.

For products made according to customer specifications or that are clearly personal in nature, the right of withdrawal may also be excluded. This only applies when the product actually falls under the legal exception and this has been clearly communicated in advance.

Any cancellation or rescheduling conditions for an activity will be stated with the relevant booking.

10. Gift Vouchers

Gift vouchers are valid for the period stated at the time of purchase. They are not redeemable for cash, unless otherwise required by law. In case of loss or unauthorized use, we can only replace a gift voucher if its validity and remaining balance can be sufficiently verified.

11. Complaints

A complaint can be submitted via info@theknitwitstable.nl. When submitting a complaint, please include the order number, a clear description, and, where relevant, photos. We will confirm receipt as soon as possible and aim to respond substantively within 14 days. If more time is needed, we will let you know when a response can be expected.

12. Liability

The Knitwit Stable is liable for damage insofar as it can be attributed to us by law. Nothing in these terms and conditions limits statutory consumer rights or liability that cannot be legally excluded. We are not responsible for damage resulting from incorrect use, improper care, or disregard of product or washing instructions, insofar as this is not attributable to a defect in the product.

13. Force Majeure

If performance is temporarily impossible due to circumstances beyond our reasonable control, we may suspend performance for as long as that situation lasts. We will inform the customer as soon as possible. Consumers' statutory rights, including the right to dissolve the agreement in applicable cases, remain in effect.

14. Intellectual Property

Texts, designs, photos, brands, and other material on our website may not be copied or used commercially without prior permission, except insofar as permitted by law.

15. Applicable Law

Dutch law applies to agreements with The Knitwit Stable. This choice of law does not deprive a consumer of the protection of mandatory law of the country where the consumer resides. Disputes will be submitted to the competent court, unless the parties jointly choose another legally permissible solution.

16. Amendments

We may amend these terms and conditions. For an order, the terms and conditions available at the time the order was placed apply. The current version and date are on the website.

3. Returns & Right of Withdrawal

Not entirely satisfied with your purchase? Below you can read how to return or exchange an order and which legal rights apply.

30-Day Return Period

You can register an eligible product for return within 30 days of receipt. The statutory cooling-off period of 14 days is part of this extended period and remains fully applicable.

Registering a Return

Register your return in one of these ways:

  • log in to your customer account in Shopify and submit the return request there; or
  • email info@theknitwitstable.nl with your order number and the item you wish to return.

You may state the reason for return, but it is not mandatory. After approval, you will receive the return instructions and the return address. Do not return without registration, so we can process your shipment correctly.

Conditions for Returns
  • The product is unworn, unwashed, and, as far as reasonably possible, in its original condition with labels attached.
  • Preferably use the original packaging and pack the product carefully for transport.
  • Clearly state your order number with the return shipment.
  • You are responsible for the package until it is received by us. Therefore, keep the shipping receipt.

During the statutory cooling-off period, you may inspect the product as would be possible in a store. If you go beyond what is necessary to ascertain the nature, characteristics, and functioning, a statutory reduction in value may be charged.

Cost of Return Shipment

The direct costs of returning the item are at the customer's expense, unless the product was delivered incorrectly, arrived damaged, or does not comply with the agreement. In such a case, we will bear the reasonable return costs after you have contacted us.

Refund

After receipt and inspection of the return, we will refund the amount due as soon as possible, generally within five working days. By law, the refund will be made no later than 14 days after the notification of withdrawal; we may wait until we have received the product or until you prove that you have returned it, whichever comes first.

The refund will be made via the same payment method used to pay for the order, unless we explicitly agree otherwise.

In case of full withdrawal of the order within the statutory cooling-off period, we will also refund the original costs of the cheapest standard delivery offered. Any additional costs for a more expensive delivery method will not be refunded. In case of a partial return or use of the additional return option after the statutory cooling-off period, the original shipping costs will not be refunded.

Exchange

Would you like a different size or another product? Please notify us via your customer account or info@theknitwitstable.nl. An exchange is subject to availability. If direct exchange is not possible, we will refund the returned product, and you can place a new order.

Exceptions

The right of withdrawal does not apply to:

  • products made according to your specifications or that are clearly personal in nature;
  • workshops, masterclasses, and other leisure services that take place on a specific date or within a specific period.

An exception only applies when it is legally applicable and has been clearly stated before purchase.

Delivered Incorrectly, Damaged, or Defective

Have you received an incorrect product, has the package arrived damaged, or does the product not meet what you could expect? Please email support@theknitwitstable.nl as soon as possible with your order number, a brief explanation, and, if possible, photos. We will then look for a suitable solution at no extra cost.

Return Address

Please use the return address you receive in the return instructions after approval. The intended address is:
