Fine and soft.
Supple and pleasant on the skin.
The fine fibres of merino wool make this quality exceptionally soft and comfortable. Merino helps regulate temperature and moisture, moves naturally with the body, and maintains its shape well. In addition, wool naturally stays fresh for a relatively long time, so airing it out between wears is often sufficient.

Light and voluminous.
Fluffy with a subtle sheen.
The long fibers of the Angora goat give mohair its recognizable soft halo and rich texture. The material feels luxurious and enveloping, yet remains surprisingly light due to its airy structure. We use both a coarser and a finer variant, depending on how much volume and warmth a design requires.

Warm and strong.
Developed for everyday use.
This blend combines Dutch wool with alpaca and polyamide. The wool provides warmth and character, alpaca adds softness and insulation, and polyamide strengthens the yarn in areas where friction often occurs during wear. That's why we primarily use this quality for accessories that need to withstand daily use.

What wool naturally can
The natural structure of wool traps air between the fibers. This creates an insulating layer that helps retain body heat, without the material having to feel heavy.
What wool can do naturally
Wool can absorb moisture and release it back into the environment. This helps the material regulate temperature and humidity, keeping it comfortable to wear even when conditions change. Because wool is less prone to odor, airing it out between wears is often sufficient.
What wool naturally can do
Wool fibers can bend, move, and spring back. This natural elasticity helps knitwear retain its shape and makes the material suitable for frequent and long-term wear.
WOOL QUALITIES COMPARED
Every type of wool does something different.
One wool offers firmness and character, another softness, airiness, or warmth. Compare our wool qualities based on feel, wearing comfort, and what they add to a knit.
This way, you'll discover which wool best suits how you want to wear your knit.

BREIEN & STRUCTUREN
Structure Library
Structure changes everything
The same wool can feel, drape, and function differently depending on how it is knitted.
How do you want your knit to feel?
The weight of a knit not only determines how much warmth it provides, but also how airy, full, or enveloping it feels.
Lichtgewicht
Light · airy · refined
Finer knits with little weight and an airy feel. Think fine mohair and lighter knits like Ember and Moss: warm without feeling heavy or dense.
Mid-weight
Comfortable · versatile · everyday
More body and warmth, without being heavy. A balanced weight that is comfortable to wear and suitable for a large part of the year. Think Dusk and Glow.
Insulating
Warm · substantial · protective
Thicker knits that retain more air around the body and therefore insulate more effectively. From robust jacquards like Dijk, Weide, and Oever to Husk: designed for colder weather and more protection.
A knit is the sum of its parts
Yarn, weight, and knit structure work together. Every choice changes how a knit feels, drapes, and wears.

Cloud quality
It starts with the fiber
The wool determines the base: from sturdy and characterful to soft, fine or airy.
Knit structure
The stitch gives shape
How a yarn is knitted determines the structure, elasticity, volume, and how a knit drapes on the body.
Weight
More or less weight
The amount of material and density of the knit determine whether a knit feels light and supple, or warm and embracing.
Character
Not every wool has to feel the same. Structure, origin and fiber give a knit its own character.
Softness
Softness is not an end in itself. We seek the softness that suits the garment and how you wear it.
Function
Warmth, resilience, firmness, or lightness. We also choose wool for what it needs to be capable of.
