From landscape to knitwear

Visit The Knitwit Stable

The Knitwit Stable is located in the middle of the polder landscape of Baambrugge. Here, landscape, animals, material and craftsmanship come together.

On our farm, we keep sheep and Angora goats. In our knitting studio, we explore how wool and mohair can be processed into yarns, clothing, and other woolen products. Dutch wool is an important starting point in this process.

Much knowledge about wool and its processing has been lost in the Netherlands in recent decades. At The Knitwit Stable, we are bringing that knowledge back together and further developing it, alongside farmers, makers, and specialists from the chain.

During a visit, you will experience the entire story: from landscape and animal to fiber, yarn, knitting machine, and ultimately, the product.

Come see, feel, and try on

The Knitwit Stable is a working farm and knitting studio. That's why we open our doors at these regular times for anyone who wants to see our knitwear in real life, feel different wool qualities, or try things on at their leisure before making a purchase.

The collection is available during fitting days, and you can walk in without an appointment.

Workshops

During our workshops, you'll experience the material by working with it. You'll become familiar with wool, yarn, and knitting techniques, and see step by step how a thread transforms into a product.

No experience is necessary. The workshops take place in our knitting studio in Baambrugge and have a limited number of spots.

Thursday, Oct 15 '26 – time to be announced

Knit your own mohair scarf

During this workshop, you'll discover how a knitted product is made. No prior experience with knitting or knitting machines is required. You will work with mohair and knit your own scarf step-by-step on a hand-knitting machine.

By working with the material yourself, you'll experience the unique softness, luster, and lightness of mohair and see how a thread transforms into a product you can wear yourself.
