De vezel van de wol van merinoschapen is veel dunner en daardoor zachter dan de wol van traditionele Nederlandse schapen. Wol past zich aan de omgeving. Wolvezels zijn elastisch en hebben een groot vochtregulerend vermogen. Deze wol verkoelt in de zomer en verwarmt in de winter, is zeer goed bestand tegen bacteriën, is brandwerend en biologisch afbreekbaar.

The special properties of Dutch merino wool

The fiber of the wool of merino sheep is much thinner and therefore softer than the wool of traditional Dutch sheep. Wool adapts to the environment. Wool fibers are elastic and have a great moisture-regulating capacity. This wool cools in summer and warms in winter, is very resistant to bacteria, is fire resistant and biodegradable. This wick has a micronage of 21, which makes it nice and soft. The wool is undyed which gives it its natural white color. Washing, carding and combing is done according to the GOTS standard. This means that the amount of harmful chemicals has been reduced to a minimum.
