The Pien is a plaid that is available in two qualities: Kempisch Heideschaap and Dutch merino. This Pien is largely made of Kempisch Heideschaap. The wool is collected from landscape management company De Wassum. The wool of the Kempisch Heideschaap is considered a waste product in the Netherlands, but by The Knitwit Stable it can still be used and processed into high-quality products.

The special characteristics of the Kempisch Heideschaap

The soft and high-quality wool from which this plaid is made comes for the most part from the Kempisch Heideschaap from the grazing company De Wassum in Roermond (60%). A herd with a small, ecological footprint. To make it even softer, wool from Dutch alpacas has been added. Furthermore, 20% merino wool with a Responsible Wool Standard (RWS) quality mark has been added.

Wool cools in the summer and warms in the winter, is highly resistant to bacteria, is fire-resistant and biodegradable. Wool has a self-cleaning capacity and therefore hardly needs to be washed. Airing is often more than enough. This way, your favourite sweater or cardigan will last for generations.

Choose your color and size

For this plaid you can choose from five colours: off-white, light grey, sand, taupe and dark blue. The off-white, sand and taupe have the natural colour of the Kempisch Heideschaap and are not dyed. All yarns of our synthetic colours are washed and dyed according to the GOTS standard. This means that the amount of harmful chemicals is limited to a minimum.

This plaid is available in two sizes: 130 cm x 180 cm and 130 cm x 200 cm.

Made to order

We work according to the made-to-order principle. This means that we will only start producing your item after you have placed your order. The delivery time is 2-4 weeks. But we promise: it's worth the wait. And the nice thing about this: you can also indicate your wishes if, for example, you want the item to be made slightly shorter or longer.
