Joe Merino, together with The Knitwit Stable in Baambrugge, started making sweaters from 100% Dutch wool over 4 years ago: The Jan Merino collection.
With Jan Merino, we wanted to put Dutch wool back on the map because little was done with it since the disappearance of the wool industry in the Netherlands. We expand the collection every year. All Jan Merino models are made from traditional Dutch sheep's wool, supplemented with 20% alpaca wool for extra softness. The Jan Merino collection is knitted in the Netherlands and is 100% biodegradable.
Jan Merino now has a loyal following who not only appreciate the story but especially enjoy wearing our Jan Merinos. So far, we have been able to use the wool from over 1500 Dutch sheep, thereby contributing to the sustainable production and processing of Dutch wool.

You can try on, feel, and buy the entire Jan Merino collection. We will show you how a Jan Merino is made and you will see (and smell) the sheep. Snacks and drinks will be provided. Not just for men, because in our own shop, the beautiful collection of sweaters, cardigans, and accessories from The Knitwit Label is ready for you to try on.
