The Luuk is a long rectangular unisex scarf made of 100% Dutch merino. Due to the fine and soft fibers of the merino, this scarf does not itch and keeps your neck warm in the colder months. Most of our merino comes from the Netherlands and is spun and dyed in Italy.

All our products are developed and knitted in our mini factory in Baambrugge.

The special properties of merino wool

The fibre of the wool of merino sheep is much thinner and therefore softer than the wool of traditional Dutch sheep. Wool adapts to the environment. Wool fibres are elastic and have a great moisture-regulating capacity. This wool cools in the summer and warms in the winter, is very resistant to bacteria, is fire-resistant and biodegradable. Wool has a self-cleaning capacity and therefore hardly needs to be washed. Airing is often more than enough. This way your favourite scarf will last for generations.

Choose your color and size

Merino is an adaptable natural fiber that comes from the merino sheep. Compared to traditional Dutch wool, merino’s fibers are much thinner and therefore softer. For this reason, merino has many characteristics that make it wonderful for all kinds of garments. Not only is the merino soft but it also doesn’t itch or wrinkle. Garments made from merino are very breathable, meaning that they stay cool in the summer and keep you warm in the winter even when damp. Additionally merino has antibacterial properties so garments hardly need to be washed; airing them out is often more than enough. This way your favorite sweater will last for generations.

Our merino is sustainably sourced from our own merino sheep as well as other Dutch merino farmers. All the merino farmers we source from are vetted by The Knitstable Stable. Additionally all of our merino hasn’t been chemically treated like superwash which preserves the natural look of merino for our garments.

We work according to the made-to-order principle. This means that we only start producing your item after your order. The delivery time is 1-2 weeks. But we promise you: it's worth the wait.
