Cushion from the Kempisch Heideschaap
New in our assortment: cushions from The Knitwit Stable. With our cushions, you sleep ethically, locally, and socially. We always do this with an eye for ecology, animal welfare, and local talent. This cushion is filled with soft wool from the Kempisch Heideschaap from grazing company 'de Wassum'. This wool has good moisture absorption, so the cushion will not feel clammy. Wool is also self-cleaning and ventilates well. This makes the cushion hypoallergenic. In short: the perfect cushion for both you and nature. The cushion is 60x70 and can be ordered together with the refill bag for €110. The cushion can be ordered separately for €90 and the refill bag for €30. Not yet on our website due to a technical issue.
Order the cushion by email: info@theknitwitstable.nl stating your name, address, and email address. We will then send you a payment request. If you order and pay for the cushion this weekend, we will ship it before December 16!
Chunky knit cardigan: Douwe
The Douwe is a chunky knit cardigan with buttons made from local sheep's wool mixed with soft alpaca and merino. This unisex cardigan can be worn open or closed by anyone. The cardigan was developed and knitted in our mini-factory in Baambrugge. The wool of the Dutch sheep has a rugged look due to its coarser wool fibers. The alpaca wool is wonderfully soft and light. Together with the merino wool, which warms in winter and cools in summer, this is the perfect wool match for a lovely cardigan. Douwe is available in four different colors and is made according to the made-to-order principle, so we are happy to make the Douwe especially for you.
Fitting morning
Our fitting mornings are coming up again. This is the perfect opportunity to see and feel our items. This coming Saturday, December 10, from 9:30 AM to 2:00 PM, you will have the opportunity to visit and try on your favorite sweater, scarf, or hat. Do you want to come? Fingerless mitts: Ditje
Ditje are a pair of fingerless mitts made of 60% Dutch wool, 20% Merino, and 20% Alpaca. This gives these mitts everything: they are tough, soft, elastic, and wonderfully warm for this winter. The mitts are 3D knitted and seamless. They are also washed in a special way after making, causing the yarn to felt a bit, making the mitts even less wind permeable. Warm and practical.

Biological circularity
The enormous growth in clothing production is directly linked to synthetic fibers. Let's not forget that about 60 percent of what we wear now consists of synthetic fibers. These come from fossil raw materials such as polyester and acrylic. Recycled polyester is made from PET bottles, but plastic remains plastic and is harmful and not biodegradable. Ultimately, this ends up in landfills and in the environment. The circular economy of fossil fuels and recycling is not the answer. We must ultimately move towards biological circularity, consuming less and differently!
