NEW: Dutch alpaca wool

We are incredibly proud to introduce Dutch alpaca wool. Alpacas mainly come from South America, but we also have them right here in the Netherlands. We have selected the softest wool with various Dutch alpaca breeders. Alpaca wool is extra warm because it consists of hollow fibers. Our first model is the Anika. Anika is a super soft sweater made from local alpaca wool in a half-patent stitch. The perfect sweater to disappear into this winter because of its softness. This way, the heating can be turned down a few degrees (who wouldn't want that...). The sweater is, of course, knitted in our mini-factory in Baambrugge and is available in 4 different colors. More new and beautiful items and photos will be coming soon! So keep an eye on our social media channels, the link to which is at the bottom of this newsletter.

Open Day October 22: The Fibershed route

We already touched upon it in our previous newsletter, and now it's almost here: On October 22, 2022, many participants of the Fibershed Network in the Netherlands will open their doors to the public! Discover the journey a garment takes, from Soil-to-Garment; from the raw material farmer and fiber processors, via designers, embellishers, makers, sellers to wearers, and finally to processors of our textile waste. We are participating too! In our program, you will receive explanations about our animals, the wool, see our inspiring documentary, and gain insight into how a sweater is industrially knitted and linked in our studio. On October 22, 2022, at 10:00, 13:00, and 15:00, you are very welcome at Kleiweg 27B, 1396 HW in Baambrugge. You can register and choose a time slot via the button below. You will then be directed to the Eventbrite website and be guaranteed a spot. We look forward to seeing you on October 22!

AMSTERDAM BAG made from Dutch wool

Sandra Archut has turned her passion for knitting into her profession. In addition to paintings, she also creates various knitting patterns, such as the bag you see in the photo next to this text. And you guessed it: this bag is made from our new fine Dutch Wool. This is our traditional Dutch yarn, but fine. Perfect for more refined projects like this AMSTERDAM BAG with a true Amsterdam design: tulips and windmills. Would you like to make this bag yourself? You can! You can order this pattern via her website and knit your own bag. Click on the link below to learn more about Wollmuschi and order the pattern. You can also order our wool directly via this link.

You can find us in the new Seasons!

Have you spotted us yet? We are featured in this month's new Seasons magazine. In the 'Green Spirit' section, we talk about how The Knitwit Stable contributes to slow fashion. We also discuss our Angora goats, the value of wool, lambing season, and shearing our animals. Beautiful photos were taken at our farm, if we do say so ourselves. You can find a small preview here. Curious? Shop the single magazine via the button below.
