Grab your warmest jumper for the shopping morning
As the days get shorter and colder again, it's high time for another shopping morning. On September 24th, October 15th, and November 12th, we are organising a shopping morning at our mini-factory in Baambrugge. From 10:00 to 13:00, everyone is welcome to take a look at The Knitwit Stable. You can feel and try on our items and, of course, meet the animals and take a look at our mini-factory. We work according to the made-to-order principle, so this is the perfect opportunity to feel the yarn, try on sizes, and see which item suits you best. With the cold days approaching, this is the perfect time to purchase a lovely warm jumper, so you can also turn down the heating a degree this winter. Fibershed Route
We already touched upon it in our previous newsletter: the National Fibershed Route. On this day, the Fibershed Nederland foundation and we at The Knitwit Stable invite the target group to visit local initiatives and innovative entrepreneurs from the Dutch Farm-to-Wardrobe circle. We show the route a garment takes from farmer, through raw material and fibre processors, designers, decorators, makers, sellers, to wearers, up to processors of our textile waste. On this day, we show in our own unique way how we implement this circle. Our program is intended for professionals, students, and families. For children over 12 years old, there is a felt workshop. The hot water bottle cover in collaboration with Yumeko
We are proud to present our collaboration with Yumeko: the hot water bottle cover. This super soft hot water bottle cover is made of 100% high-quality wool and was developed in our studio. The cover consists of 60% Kempisch Heideschaap, 20% Merino wool, and 20% Dutch Alpaca wool. The latter two types make the cover even softer. Due to the insulating property of wool, the hot water bottle stays warm even longer. Wonderful for the cold days ahead. You can order the hot water bottle cover on our website via the link below.

We are organizing a wool sorting day!
On October 29th, we are organizing a wool sorting day from 10:00 to 16:00 for approximately 12 volunteers. On this day, we will sort the wool so that we can send it to the washing plant in Italy. We remove straw and manure from the wool and check the fibre length and quality. This way, the best wool can be washed and spun in Italy, so that we can then knit beautiful jumpers here in our mini-factory. Would you like to help us? The Day of Wool
After a 2-year hiatus, the Day of Wool is back. On October 8th, you can find us on this day in Boxtel. There will be a market with exhibitors showcasing their creative wool products and wool itself in various forms. In addition, there will also be a stage where innovative applications of wool will be presented. In short: the perfect day to see and learn more about wool. We will also be one of the exhibitors and will introduce you to all the types of wool we produce. Will we see you on October 8th in Boxtel?
Amsterdam Made Shop
The Amsterdam Made foundation launched a campaign on September 13th to help consumers make good choices when it comes to sustainable shopping. The video below clarifies that buying local and sustainable products through the Amsterdam Made Shop is good for the consumer, good for the makers, and great for the city.
