The Dutch Wool Project: Scotch & Soda and The Knitwit Stable

Last week saw the introduction of the Dutch wool project, made possible by our collaboration with Scotch & Soda. These limited edition unisex items are made from 100% Dutch wool, from Kempen Heath sheep from the grazing company De Wassum in Roermond, blended with alpaca wool. Through this collaboration, we are utilizing this forgotten resource and putting Dutch wool back on the map! Watch the video below.

Dutch sheep wool socks for the holidays

The ideal gift for everyone: socks. Sjors, our sheep wool socks made from Dutch wool and alpaca, are wonderfully warm and soft. With winter and the holidays approaching, this is the perfect gift to enter 2023 with warm feet. Besides Sjors, we also have our sock Guus, our other socks, made from merino wool. Something for everyone. If you order them this week, we will start knitting right away and ensure you have them before Sinterklaas! Order them below.

New in our webshop: Anne

A wonderfully warm cardigan to snuggle into this winter: our Anne. The cardigan is made from Dutch alpaca wool, making it wonderfully soft. Anne is made-to-order, which means we make it especially for you in our studio in Baambrugge. This allows us to meet your wishes, for example if you want extra (sleeve) length. The cardigan is available in four different colors: blossom, off-white, dark blue, and camel. Will Anne be your new winter favorite?

MEPs visit The Knitwit Stable

Will a polyester T-shirt from Bangladesh soon get a better footprint label than a sweater from Baambrugge? The European Union is developing the PEF label, which stands for Product Environmental Footprint. It should clarify the ecological footprint of, for example, a sweater or scarf. This is why we had high-level visitors in Baambrugge. A delegation from the European Parliament visited us at The Knitwit Stable on October 26. The delegation wanted to see with their own eyes how the wool products are made on our farm and wanted to learn more about the sustainability of wool. A docutip for a rainy Sunday

British fashion designer Amy Powney and her business partner have traveled in recent years to the catwalks of London Fashion Week, the world's largest textile fair in France, sheep farms in South America, and a wool weaving mill in Austria. Her mission: to bring the first fully sustainable fashion collection to market. Her quest is entirely in line with the youth she spent with her parents in a self-sufficient community. We found it an inspiring documentary and would like to recommend it to you for the next rainy Sunday.
