New date for our masterclass

Due to high demand, we have scheduled an additional masterclass. On Saturday, May 14th, we still have a few spots left for our masterclass 'The world behind a sweater'. In this masterclass, we will introduce you to the production process of your wool sweater, provide insight into the wool chain, and let you get hands-on. You can register for the masterclass via info@theknitwitstable.nl or click the button below for more information.

We won the Textiel Call 2022!

The Knitwit Stable is one of the five fortunate winners of the DOEN Textielcall 2022. We will receive a donation of 50,000 euros to grow our company, The Knitwit Stable. With the donation from Stichting Doen, we can market our brand, The Knitwit Label, and thereby contribute to a circular textile industry. Curious about what we will do with the donation? Keep an eye on our Instagram @the.knitwit.stable.

Fact

Lambing season is in full swing, and we are thoroughly enjoying the new life on the farm. Did you know that ewes recognize their lambs by sound, smell, and the lamb's appearance? The bleating of the sheep or lamb plays an important role, especially in the pasture. In the initial phase, we place the ewe and lamb in a lambing pen to promote good mother-lamb bonding, so that when they go into the pasture, they can effortlessly find each other again.

Perfect for summer: our Babs

Babs is a short, wonderfully warm and soft cardigan made from ethical mohair wool from young Dutch goats. This wool has the pleasant characteristics of being non-itchy, beautifully shiny, and super soft and light. You can specify your own (length) measurements so that the cardigan will be exactly as you wish. Perfect for summer, to wear over a long summer dress or a light blouse. Babs comes without buttons, but for a small additional charge, we can also make this cardigan with buttons.

Textile Exchange

Last week, Renske Koster and Nicholas Brown from Textile Exchange visited. We have been members for several years now. Textile Exchange is a global non-profit organization that creates leaders in the fiber and materials industry. Textile Exchange builds a community that collectively strives to achieve what is difficult as an individual or company alone. With its new Climate+ strategy, Textile Exchange is the driving force behind climate action in textile fibers and materials. Additionally, Textile Exchange develops and manages certifications, including the Responsible Wool Standard, which provides a way to verify sustainability claims from raw material to finished product. The Knitwit Stable is still too small, and certification is too expensive to implement for us, but we follow all standards rigorously and provide insight through full transparency.
