The Dutch Design Week
Welcome existing and new newsletter readers,
We're so pleased that so many of you were enthusiastic about our 2 projects at Dutch Design Week and have subscribed to our newsletter. We are incredibly surprised by all the positive reactions we received. A big thank you for your support and interest!
AaBe x Knitwit blanket & plaid
One of our projects at Dutch Design Week was the AaBe x Knitwit blanket.
For generations, the AaBe blanket provided warmth and comfort in countless Dutch homes. The Knitwit Stable has picked up the thread again and, with respect for tradition and a focus on sustainability, has breathed new life into the AaBe blanket.
Experience the warmth and softness with our renewed, sustainable blanket. This luxurious blanket embraces you with comfort and offers you a cozy cocoon during cold days. Let yourself be enveloped by the warmth and softness this blanket has to offer - a perfect addition to any home.
We have the blanket in two beautiful colors! The first has an off-white inside and a sand-colored outside. The second variant is entirely in a beautiful sand color.
In addition to the AaBe x Knitwit blanket, we have proudly developed a beautiful plaid. The wool also comes from the Kempen heath sheep that graze at landscape management De Wassum, after which it is spun and woven in Italy. Our plaid combines traditional weaving patterns with Old Dutch patterns. The patterns are based on traditional costumes and the Brabant check. Perfect for cozy moments on the couch, this luxurious plaid embraces you with wonderful comfort.
Zeefier x The Knitwit Stable
Our second project at Dutch Design Week was the collaboration with Zeefier. The Knitwit Stable and Zeefier have joined forces against fast furniture. Their first joint project, the carpet 'From Dutch Wool and Seaweed', shows the power of local resources and industrial craftsmanship, with innovation and respect for local, animal and the sea at its core. If you want to stay informed about the Zeefier x The Knitwit Stable project, you can subscribe below.
VPRO also made a documentary about this project, among others. In The World of Dutch Design, Nadia Moussaid searches for new solutions to major issues with Dutch designers. Nienke Hoogvliet designed the carpet from Dutch wool with natural textile dye made from seaweed, without chemicals.

Collaborations
Invitation:
Joline Jolink x The Knitwit Stable
The Knitwitstable has collaborated with Joline Jolink on a design using Dutch waste wool. The result is a beautiful sweater dyed with natural dyes. Roua Alhalabi sowed woad in the vegetable garden in the spring, from which blue dye was made. After these sweaters were manually dyed last summer, we are proud to share this final result with you!
Come to the launch of 'Gertrude' on Thursday, October 31 at the Joline Jolink store, Nieuwe Binnenweg 82, Rotterdam
We hope to see you there! No registration is needed.
New Optimist x The Knitwit Stable
This Friday, New Optimist will unveil our collaboration! For now, here's a sneak peek of what's to come. Very exciting!

On November 23rd from 1:30 PM - 5:00 PM, we are organizing an exclusive sample sale with our unique sweaters, hats, scarves and more. These items are at a lower price because we cannot use them for regular sale. Here you can buy a number of unique pieces that you don't want to miss!
Many men's items are available, so if you are looking for a striking piece for yourself or a gift, this is your chance. Each item is made with care and has its own story.
No registration needed!
The Wies vest
The Wies is a turtleneck vest, made from traditional Dutch wool mixed with Dutch alpaca and merino. This blend of fibers gives the Wies specific properties: the Dutch wool has a tougher appearance, which is then softened by the addition of alpaca and merino. This vest has a collar that is not too high. The Wies is 3D knitted, combining old craft and new innovation.
