The Guus are our merino wool socks that will certainly keep your feet nice and warm during cold winter nights. With ribbed details for a good fit, these socks have excellent moisture and temperature regulating properties. It is recommended to use the Guus as sleeping socks, because they do not wear well with a lot of friction. The Guus are made of 98% merino and 2% nylon, with the nylon in the heel and toes. Most of our merino comes from the Netherlands and is spun and dyed in Italy.

The special properties of merino wool

Merino is an adaptable natural fiber that comes from the merino sheep. Compared to traditional Dutch wool, merino’s fibers are much thinner and therefore softer. For this reason, merino has many characteristics that make it wonderful for all kinds of garments. Not only is the merino soft but it also doesn’t itch or wrinkle. Garments made from merino are very breathable, meaning that they stay cool in the summer and keep you warm in the winter even when damp. Additionally merino has antibacterial properties so garments hardly need to be washed; airing them out is often more than enough. This way your favorite sweater will last for generations.

Our merino is sustainably sourced from our own merino sheep as well as other Dutch merino farmers. All the merino farmers we source from are vetted by The Knitstable Stable. Additionally all of our merino hasn’t been chemically treated like superwash which preserves the natural look of merino for our garments.

Choose your color and size

You can choose from four colors for these socks: dark blue, dark gray, light gray and sand. The sand is the natural color of the merino wool and not dyed. All yarns of our synthetic colors are washed and dyed according to the GOTS standard. This means that the amount of harmful chemicals has been reduced to a minimum.

These socks are available in three sizes; 37-39, 40-42 and 43-45.

Made-to-order

Wij werken volgens het made-to-order principe. Dit betekent dat we pas aan de slag gaan met het produceren van jouw item na jouw bestelling. De sokken breien we meestal binnen een week. Je kunt ook je wensen aangeven als je het item bijvoorbeeld iets korter of langer wilt laten maken.
