Dutch Mohair

This yarn is made from fair mohair wool from Dutch young goats. This wool has the nice property that it does not itch. The yarn is GOTS certified, washed and dyed in Italy.

The special properties of mohair

Mohair is a versatile, natural fiber that has many characteristics that make it wonderful for all kinds of garments. Not only does mohair have a beautiful shine and fluffy texture, it is also soft, lightweight and durable. Garments made from mohair are very breathable, meaning that they stay cool in the summer and keep you warm in the winter. Additionally mohair has antibacterial properties so garments hardly need to be washed; airing them out is often more than enough. This way your favorite sweater will last for generations.

Alongside all these incredible qualities that make this multifaceted fiber excellent to wear, our mohair is also environmentally conscious. All the mohair is biodegradable and responsibly sourced. This means that, through the whole supply chain, the mohair produced meets certain standards of transparency, animal welfare and environmental responsibility.

 Choose your color and size

With this yarn, you can choose from seven colours: dark blue, light grey, taupe (grey-brown), light blue, dark grey and blush (soft pink). The off-white is the natural colour of the mohair goat and not dyed. All yarns of our synthetic colours are washed and dyed according to the GOTS standard. This means that the amount of harmful chemicals have been reduced to a minimum. To recycle properly, we are switching to monoground fabric: the yarn of the light blue and blossom colours are already made of 100% mohair.

This comforting warm and soft yarn is made from the mohair wool of young Dutch goats, a great itch free material. The yarn is GOTS certified washed and dyed in Italy.

There is approximately 100 meters on a ball of Dutch Mohair of 50 grams. We advise you to always knit a test piece first and then wash it at 30 degrees wool wash program to check the number of rows and stitches. After washing you can put the cloth in the dryer for 10 minutes at lukewarm to get the most beautiful hairy result.
