At a small mini-mill in Belgium you can still wash and spin small numbers of furs and this is where this fantastic yarn emerged. The yarn is a mix of Dutch 'crossbreed' sheep, Alpaca and Blue Twister. The color of the yarn is the natural color of the sheep and alpacas. A beautiful traditional Dutch yarn.

There is approximately 135 meters in a 100 gram ball of Dutch Twisted Wool. We advise you to always knit a test piece first and then wash it to check the number of rows and stitches.

The special properties of Dutch wool and alpaca

Wol van het traditionele Nederlandse schaap heeft als kenmerk dat het een stoerder uiterlijk heeft door zijn grovere wolvezels. Alpacawol is licht, superzacht en sterk. Dit is een perfecte match. De blauwe texelaar wordt gebruikt als binddraad met een geweldig effect. Wolvezels zijn heel elastisch en hebben een vochtregulerend vermogen. De wol verkoelt in de zomer en verwarmt in de winter, is zeer goed bestand tegen bacteriën, is brandwerend en biologisch afbreekbaar. Wol heeft een zelfreinigend vermogen en hoeft dus nauwelijks gewassen. Luchten is vaak meer dan genoeg. Zo gaat je lievelingstrui generaties mee.

When ordering yarn on cone, the wool is spun on the cone, which allows larger quantities to be ordered at once. When ordering multiple 100 grams on cone, it is spun on one cone at once. With balls, each 100 grams is packed separately. If you want to order more than 5 kilos, please contact us.
